R5-PARA Racing

With a visual-impairment there is no way I could do this on a standard bike but with my teammate and friend, Greg Miller, we hammered my first MTB tandem ride during Fall CycleFest presented by Interbike.
It was such a fun weekend, defeating eye disease and living life with great friends
GM gave an entirely new meaning of "fearless tandem driver" this weekend on the trails.

R5-PARA Racing

R5-PARA Racing and The Tandem Driver Core led by Greg Miller , fought Stargardt disease on and off the road last weekend at Fall CycleFest. Greg and Karen Miller are truly incredible friends who add so much value to the lives of blind and visually-impaired people. This weekend we cycled 50 miles on the road and Greg drove the MTB tandem with me on the trails at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. All as a part of Fall CycleFest presented by InterBike. Afterward we met up with a couple of strong supporters of the Para-Cycling and Para-Triathlon movement, Caroline and James. Both are great friends and have competed as Guides with BVI athletes in the Para-Triathlon Division. without incredible people like this, BVI athletes such as myself could not live an active and healthy lifestyle through training and racing the tandem bicycle. Last weekend however, it was all about fun and spending time with great people.
