R5-PARA Racing

I can never express this enough, how privileged I am to train and race the tandem bicycle and today was no exception. My teammate stephen Pedone and I are here in tucson, AZ for the R5-PARA Racing training camp in preparation for the 2017 season with our first race this weekend in at the VELO Sports Center in Carson, CA. The U.S. Paralympics Track Cycling Open Jan 28-29 will serve as a National Championship and also the selection event for 2017 UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships.
This morning we rolled the Tuesday Shootout here in tucson, AZ and I can't express enough how awesome it was to hammer with such a strong Professional group of riders. Among them, we had a World Tour Pro and a Canadian Pro team as well as several Pro Triathletes. As a visually-impaired bike racer, myself, I can't thank my teammate, Stephen Pedone, enough for driving tandem with me so that we experience some of the highest quality training in the country. For a BVI (blind or visually-impaired) Para-Cyclist, this is truly amazing! Thursday we depart Tucson for Carson to compete for a National Championship and also the privilege to represent Team USA. No matter the results however, stephen and I are committed to a focus on the process, the journey, and the mission.
